Food poisoning has become a common illness that is occurred due to improper food. Food poisoning symptoms are observed very often among people. Man does all the work and takes large risks in life just to earn a plate of meal for himself and his family but when it comes to eating the earned food he neglects a lot by choosing always to eat the food that comes easily to him like buying the outside food or going to a restaurant. Some people feel lazy to cook food and try to fill their stomach with all the junk stuff and finally fall sick after few days, then they realize the doctor’s cost is expensive than cooking food.

There are various aspects that cause food contamination such as improper cooking, lack of cleanliness, not washing hands properly after washing the meat and touching other food with the same hands that later on leads to cross contamination, storing the food at incorrect temperatures or keeping the food at normal temperature for long hours etc.

The main sources of food poisoning are meat, produce and canned foods. These foods get contaminated through the invasion of various bacteria that spreads on your cooked food without your knowledge as the food remains the same in flavor, smell and taste. Sometimes it becomes difficult to identify the contaminated food and if the food spoilage is clearly seen then that bacteria is harmless.

The various kinds of bacteria that cause food poisoning are a) Campylobacter – This is the most common of bacterial food poisoning. You can see many cases affected by this type of bacteria. It mainly occurs due to undercooked chicken or the food that is cross contaminated with the raw chicken. In order to prevent this cook the chicken thoroughly at the right temperature and wash your hands properly every time you handle the raw chicken. All the kitchen accessories like dish cloth, cutting board, utensils etc should be washed thoroughly by using soaps or any diluted bleach solution. b) E. coli 0157- This kind of bacteria is usually observed in undercooked ground beef or meat and also in milk products. This bacterium resides in the lower intestine of healthy animals and when they are not properly cooked it affects your body’s immune system. So, take measures by cooking the beef until no pink appears and also see that the inside of the meat is hot then you can say that the meat is cooked well. Have only pasteurized milk products and drink only the disinfectant water. c)

Clostridium botulinum – This is very dangerous bacteria. It is a spore-forming bacterium and occurs due to improper cooking and eating low acid foods like green beans, mushrooms, spinach, olives etc. The canned foods that are not handled properly also become a cause for food poisoning through this bacterium. Avoid canned foods that smell bad or deteriorating. d) Infant botulism- this bacterium generally attacks the younger than 1year of age. The symptoms include muscle weakness, weak cry, constipation etc. This occurs through feeding honey to infants.

Therefore, avoid bacterial food poisoning symptoms by taking measures discussed above.
